KrisFlyer: Bringing Wishes to Life for Make-A-Wish Singapore Beneficiaries

Donate your KrisFlyer miles for a good cause to Make-A-Wish Singapore

Since 2017, the partnership between KrisFlyer and Make-A-Wish Singapore has helped grant the wishes of many children with critical illnesses. Through the generosity of our KrisFlyer members, donated miles are used to redeem flights on Singapore Airlines, Scoot and our partner airlines, experiences on Pelago or purchases on KrisShop.

In 2025, over 32 million miles were used to fulfil the wishes of 53 children and their families. These allowed the wish children and their families to embark on meaningful journeys to 28 destinations including Busan, Osaka, Tokyo, New York, Jeju, Jeddah, London and more. Others created treasured memories right here at home, visiting popular tourist attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore and the Singapore Zoo.

“I wish to meet Max Verstappen!” – Maxim, 8

(From left) Maxim with his idol, four-time Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen; Maxim at the F1 exhibition at Gallery26 Dempsey in Singapore.

Eight-year-old Maxim is an energetic, sociable and ardent Formula 1 enthusiast. During his treatment for leukaemia, watching F1 races from his hospital bed gave Maxim something to look forward to. Cheering for Max Verstappen also became a shared family hobby together with his parents and twin sister.

His biggest wish? To meet his idol, Verstappen, the very person he was named after. Maxim’s wish journey took him to the Grand Prix in Austria where he finally met his hero in person.

But prior to that, to fuel his excitement for the big day, Maxim was surprised with a Red Bull racing toy car to keep by his side. A visit to an F1 museum in Singapore further sparked his passion, allowing him to immerse himself in the sport and learn its history.

When the day came for him to finally meet Verstappen at the Grand Prix, Maxim was welcomed as a VIP. The two Maxes shared a meaningful conversation that Maxim will remember for a long time.

Beyond the racetrack, the wish gave the family time together, a break from hospital routines and daily challenges, as well as memories they can hold onto forever.

“I wish to go to Bluey’s World!” – Kayara, 10

Kayara with her favourite cartoon characters, Bluey and Bingo.

Kayara, who lives with Alagille syndrome, found comfort in the adventures of Bluey and Bingo (from the popular Australian cartoon series, Bluey) during her treatments. Naturally, her wish was to visit the characters’ home in real life at Bluey’s World in Brisbane.

During her trip to Brisbane, Kayara explored famous locations from her favourite episodes, visited museums, played in indoor playgrounds, and enjoyed a family picnic. The highlight was her VIP visit to Bluey’s World, where she danced with the Bluey and Bingo mascots and celebrated her birthday with a special Bluey-themed cake.

“I wish to celebrate my newfound mobility with a trip to Universal Studios Singapore!” – Insyirah, 12

Insyirah celebrated receiving her specialised wheelchair with a day out with her family.

For 12-year-old Insyirah, who has Lumbosacral Myelomeningocele and Arnold chiari malformation type 2, a specialised wheelchair was more than a wish — it was a necessity. Living with multiple medical conditions, including scoliosis, made everyday comfort a challenge. When Insyirah finally received her wheelchair, it marked an important step towards greater independence in her daily life.

To celebrate receiving her wheelchair, Insyirah and her family enjoyed a rare day out together, starting with a meal at Swensen’s, followed by a fun VIP guided tour of Universal Studios Singapore, which was redeemed via Pelago with miles donated by our members.

“I wish to see manatees in the wild!” – Yun Jun, 11

(From left) Yun Jun pictured with his family; Yun Jun kayaking in Crystal River with his family to see his
beloved manatees.

For 11-year-old Yun Jun, battling renal cell carcinoma meant enduring major surgeries and intensive physiotherapy. Through it all, a soft toy manatee was his bedside companion, representing the calmness that he sought.

When asked for his wish, Yun Jun’s answer was clear: he wanted to step beyond the glass of the aquarium and see manatees in the wild. His wish took him to the waters of Crystal River, a coastal city in Florida, USA. Kayaking through the coastal waters, he finally had the chance to interact with the gentle giants that he had admired for a long time.

Seeing manatees in the wild wasn’t just a sightseeing trip for Yun Jun – it was a deeply restorative one. The moments of connection he had with the manatees in person offered him respite from the stress of treatment and provided him with a sense of peace and comfort.

“I wish to go on the Ferrari Factory Panoramic Tour in Italy!” – Ahmad, 5

Ahmad posing with Ferrari race cars at the Ferrari Museum.

In Ahmad’s battle with lymphatic malformation, Ferrari cars went beyond a simple interest to become his source of strength and motivation during treatment. It’s no surprise that Ahmad’s wish was to go on the Ferrari Factory Panoramic Tour in Maranello, Italy which takes visitors around the iconic Fiorano Track and Viale Enzo Ferrari boulevard within the factory complex.

At the Ferrari Factory, Ahmad and his family were also treated to a private tour of the grounds. They watched each stage of car production up close, gaining an exclusive, firsthand look at the elite team behind some of the world’s most iconic cars.

Prior to his trip, the family watched the movie Grand Prix of Europe at the cinema and received a Ferrari-themed Lego set which they built together at home.

This family trip offered a meaningful break for Ahmad and allowed him to enjoy moments of childhood joy that illness had often disrupted, leaving him with renewed strength.

“I wish to go to Tokyo Disneyland!” – Anna, 7

Anna’s princess wish came true in Tokyo Disneyland when she received makeover and dressed as the
Disney character, Ariel.

Just before her neuroblastoma diagnosis, Anna travelled to Japan with her family, where she fell in love with the pink cherry blossoms. Her wish was to return to the Land of the Rising Sun to relive her happy memories there with her family, taking a pause from gruelling hospital routines.

This time, Anna wished to go to the land of every child’s dreams – Disneyland. A true princess at heart, Anna loves all things sparkly. This wish took on deeper meaning after treatment – it was an opportunity to dress up and be a princess even if just for a day, regain her confidence and see herself as beautiful and strong.

There, Anna and her sister experienced the princess makeover experience at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and transformed into Ariel. In their gowns and accessories, they explored Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, met Ariel, dined at the My Little Mermaid playground, and created many wonderful memories.

The trip took place just before a daunting medical scan, but the happiness of the journey gave Anna the emotional resilience to face her fears without tears.

“I wish to go to Finland!” – Jia Cheng, 11

In Finland, Jia Cheng experienced many “firsts” including his first husky sled right and his first
time ice fishing.

Following a challenging period of treatment and physiotherapy for leukaemia, Jia Cheng looked forward to his wish of experiencing the snowy landscapes of Finland.

There, Jia Cheng experienced many “firsts”: his first white Christmas, his first husky sled ride, and his first ice fishing experience. Beyond these experiences, the trip also encouraged personal growth in him. It was a learning journey and lesson in independence for Jia Cheng who learnt how to navigate European table manners as well as pack and dress for extreme cold, among other things.

His mother noticed a positive shift in him. He is now more confident, self-reliant, and ready to take on new challenges. Today, Jia Cheng carries a renewed sense of hope as he continues working toward a healthy future.
